Giuliano Hazan Dinner

We had a lovely dinner tonight drawing from Giuliano Hazan's various books. First course was basil and fresh tomato pasta, which was delicious, and second was a beautiful rack of lamb with rosemary and parmesan and bread crumb crust, served with a roast beet salad.

With a mango to follow for desert.

The only thing I would do differently is cook the lamb a little shorter as it was quite well done.

It was all superb though. Really really good. And simple.

Thanks Giuliano.

  1. That sounds like a scrumptious meal! Giuliano is traveling right now, I may need him to make a similar meal when he arrives home. Of course, he will ask "why can't you make it yourself"..... perhaps it is time for the kids and I to harvest our basil. Thank you for the inspiration.

  2. Lael, what a wonderfully generous post given the cooking credentials of your family, which I have no doubt at all, includes your own skills in the kitchen. It was a scrumptious meal, using fresh and honest ingredients. I didn't mention it, but our basil was actually harvested from my mother's garden, as well as the rosemary. It was nice of her because she has only one basil plant, and it now does not have any basil on it. But what better use for a basil plant could there be?
